Intel Selects EMU Webmail for New e-Business Data Center Store. Email
Application Adds Web Access Capability for Users of Intel's NetStructure Appliances
SAN JOSE: November 8, 2000 - EMUMAIL, a developer
of email products and services, announced today that Intel has selected its
email-to-web access product, EMU Webmail 4.5, as one of the first software
applications add-ons available for the Intel NetStructure 1010 and 1020 Hosting
Appliances. To be sold through Intel's e-Business Data Center Store, a virtual
one-stop shopping center for managed service providers, EMU Webmail 4.5 will
offer brandable email access from a web browser interface to NetStructure
end users.
EMU Webmail 4.5 installed on the NetStructure
Mail and Web server provides an email accessibility solution for users of
the hosting appliance. Without webmail access users are forced to use desktop
clients that may not be universally available as users travel or move from
home to work. With EMU Webmail 4.5 and the NetStructure, administrators can
rapidly deploy email and web access to their end users.
EMU Webmail 4.5 is available as a software download
to registered users of Intel's e-Business Data Center Store. Two versions
of EMU Webmail 4.5 are available. A Professional Edition sells for $3000 and
grants full customization of the user interface to the NetStructure Administrator.
A Standard Edition retails for $1,500 and provides basic webmail access without
the customization features of the Professional Edition. A Trial version may
be downloaded from Intel's e-Business Data Center Store.
Optimized for the occasional webmail access, the
NetStructure utilizes EMUMAIL's new "IMAP Quickview" technology to rapidly
view mailboxes no matter how large their size. EMU Webmail 4.5's standard
features rival that of a traditional desktop email client-Attachments, spell
check, user address books, filtering rules, remote mailbox viewing, and real
time Spam detection, for example.
"We welcome this addition to our e-Business Data
Center Store," said Angela Highfill, Intel IMAD Product Marketing. "As outsourced services continue to
grow in importance, we want to provide solutions as well as potential incremental
sources of revenue to users of our hosting appliances. EMU WebMail lets our
customers offer a basic service that every Internet user must have."
"Email is a crucial Internet application. EMUMAIL
lowers management and development costs, while providing a highly reliable,
scalable, and cost-effective solution," said Wayne Threatt, CEO and president
of EMUMAIL. "By downloading EMU WebMail from Intel's store, managed service
providers can easily install our application on Intel's NetStructure Appliances
and immediately enhance their offerings."
