International Websites Choose to Locally Host Their Webmail Software to
Improve Performance
CAMBRIDGE, MA: December 08, 1999: EMUMAIL, Inc.,
the leading webmail software publisher, reported that more and more international
customers are seeking to improve their webmail performance by hosting webmail
server software locally.
According to EMUMAIL President Matthew Mankins,
"With the surge in global Internet use, and the demands that puts on these
smaller, growing networks, International websites now realize that hosting
their software in the US can cause serious performance delays for their end
users. International ISPs, portals, and other other websites see how this
issue is solved by using a local network model, pioneered by services such
as Akamai (NASDAQ:AKAM)."
Through the use of locally installed webmail software
like EMUMAIL, International users are provided with all the features of a
free email service, such as Microsoft's Hotmail, but with improved performance
and security.
EMUMAIL, based in Cambridge, MA, provides a revolutionary
webmail product line including enterprise-level and lite versions, available
for both NT and UNIX installations. The system is packed with features for
both users and system administrators, including the ability to fully customize
the look and feel of each interface. The EMUMAIL user interface is available
in several languages.
EMUMAIL's products are in use by corporations
globally, including Citicorp, United Parcel Service, and Sun MicroSystems.
In addition, the service has been highly valuable to Internet Service Providers
and academic institutions such as Texas A&M and the University of California.
